Title: Have Minorities Gained Acceptance Over the Years?
Topic: Minority acceptance in Today’s America
Idea:
Students will take their previous knowledge of how minorities have been treated over time in the U.S. which they have learned in previous lessons. From there they will be divided into groups of two and asked to find current evidence from an online magazine or newspaper that support their case. Students will cite evidence gathered from the web about how much minorities are accepted into the mainstream of American life. They will support their conclusions by writing an answer to an essay question. Each pair must have at least one current and reliable source to support their answer.
