Title: Color Matching
Topic: Fine Motor Skills
Grade: Kindergarten-2nd (special education)
Idea: 3 colors (red, blue, and yellow), 6 colors with words (red, green, yellow, blue, orange, and purple), 6 colors without words, 8 colors with words (red, green, yellow, blue, orange, purple, brown, and black), 8 colors without words
Color matching: setting up the tasks:
1. Print out 2 copies of color matching page.
2. Laminate both of them (or cover with clear contact paper).
3. Cut one sheet into colored squares. The other one will be the color mat.
Activities:
1. Have child match the colored card to the sheet. Use Velcro to help the cards stick to the color mat.
2. Find objects of each color and have the child match the object to the color mat.
Skill Development: Color recognition, fine motor skills (using clothespins, paper clips to attach and match).
