Jillian Taylor Assign #1

Title: Sea Turtles and Dangers in the Sea

Topic: science, sea turtles

Grade: 1-5

Idea: Many younger students have heard of or know about the dangers that oil spills cause for sea life, but it can be hazardous to endangered species, like sea turtles. Not only is it important to help protect the oceans, but it’s also important to protect the sea life and the endangered species that live within it.

Materials: a computer, the Aquatic Project Wild cd packet

Modifications:

  1. After a discussion about oil spills and other hurdles sea turtles face, have each student pair up with another at a computer
  2. Set up the cd with the games, and have them play the Turtle Hurdle game to learn how hard it is to be a turtle.
