Philip Hesser EDCI 320 assignment 2b Friday class
Resource Idea
Title: Class Website
Topic: Multi-learning web site
Grade: For classes 6-12
Objectives: Using the website the teacher would be able to put each days lesson on the internet available for student use
Ideas: An online website is something that can be used by teacher, student, and parent alike. At the beginning of the semester the teacher would put outlines of notes on each lesson. There would be an open forum to discuss any possible essay assignments, homework, or test questions. I would make myself available nightly from 7 to 9 for any questions about my class. This site would be completely secure. Pin numbers and passwords would be required.
Materials: access to a computer
Modifications: Build site

Precision Agriculture & Global Positioning Systems
The use of GPS and GIS in precision agriculture
The lesson is intended for a junior or senior Ag class.
The powerpoint show explains the global positioning system (GPS) and the geographic information system (GIS) and how they are used in precision agriculture. The lesson could easily be expanded to include a scavenger hunt activity using handheld GPS units to demonstrate their use.
The slideshow can be found at: http://www.glenrosearkansasffa.org/PRECISIO.PPT

Subject: English Language Arts
Using pictures taken of the students digitally, pictures of themselves can be added to backgrounds that they have created themselves using the program Kid Pix. Students can use this to talk about their favorite part in a story that the class read/discussed. For instance, if the class read Harry Potter, they could draw a scene they imagine from the story on the computer and put their digital pictures in it to make themselves part of the story.
